Shetland by Lamana is a feather-light yarn made from 100% virgin wool with a grippy character and a beautiful, semi-matte surface. Despite its low weight, it provides surprisingly much warmth and is particularly suitable for larger projects that should remain light and hold their shape beautifully.

I especially recommend Shetland for sweaters, cardigans, scarves, and of course for Nordic-inspired patterns or Fair Isle projects. Larger favorite pieces, in particular, benefit from this special lightness. I also like that the yarn blooms again after the first wash and becomes noticeably softer.

What I particularly appreciate about Lamana is the combination of exceptional quality and responsible production.

The mulesing-free lamb's wool for Shetland comes from carefully selected sheep farms and is certified for animal welfare, sustainability, and social responsibility. The yarn is spun and dyed in Italy by a family-run traditional company.

The fact that Shetland is also certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I, fits very well for me with a yarn where quality and responsibility come together.

Care instructions from my shop

Wool wash cycle at 30 °C with mild wool detergent recommended. Then dry flat and gently pull into shape if necessary.
